About the Role
The Operations Lead (Academic) oversees the daily operations of the Guided Learning department, ensuring smooth delivery of academic programs and high standards of educational quality. The role bridges academic supervision with operational management, leading a team of MTAs and coordinating with cross-functional teams to maintain consistency, efficiency, and student satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Oversee day-to-day academic operations, scheduling, and reporting within the Guided Learning department.
Ensure lessons, assessments, and support activities are executed efficiently and according to established standards.
Maintain operational workflows and documentation to enhance clarity and productivity.
Team Supervision & Development
Lead, coach, and support a team of MTAs, ensuring performance targets and academic goals are met.
Foster a collaborative, accountable, and growth-focused team culture.
Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and identify areas for improvement.
Academic Coordination
Support academic quality by monitoring lesson execution, content accuracy, and teaching alignment with the curriculum.
Provide guidance and feedback to MTAs to ensure consistent academic delivery.
Coordinate with subject leads and academic management to address instructional challenges and maintain standards.
Communication & Stakeholder Alignment
Serve as a point of contact between MTAs, tutors, and management teams.
Ensure clear, timely, and solution-oriented communication across departments.
Collaborate with other operational and academic units to streamline workflows.
Training & Quality Assurance
Conduct onboarding and refresher training sessions for new and existing MTAs.
Support continuous improvement in instructional methods and operational procedures.
Monitor student engagement and satisfaction indicators to ensure quality of delivery.
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
2–4 years of experience in academic operations, supervision, or coordination.
Strong leadership and organizational skills with attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data/reporting tools.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams.
